Sinks Canyon Cave Trek

Saturday, September 7 2024 9-2pm

Join the Riverton Museum on a guided cave tour located at Sinks Canyon State Park. Participants should be prepared and able to walk through a cave for 2 to 3 hours. The minimum age is 10 years old. Reservations are required in advance. Only 8 spots are available for this exciting opportunity. 

The cost is $15 per person to cover the admission fee. We will meet at the Riverton Museum at 9am and drive over to the Sinks Canyon State Park. You are responsible for bringing your own sack lunch and water to this Adventure Trek. Participants are also required to fill out a basic waiver form through the Sinks Canyon State Park which we will send out to everyone who registers for the trek.


Red Canyon Petroglyph Trek

Saturday, September 7 2024 10am

Visit this unique Native American Rock Art site on private property and learn about the people that created and communicated with them on this Wind River Visitors Council Adventure Trek program on September 7th at 10am.

$15.00 per person, reservations required, limit 15 people. Meet at the Pioneer Museum.

Lander Valley Farmer’s Market

Saturday, September 7 2024 9-11:30am

The Lander Valley Farmers Market is a volunteer-run, weekly farmers market that serves the Lander community from June to October. Featuring produce, meat, eggs, dairy, flowers, baked goods, cottage foods and crafts locally produced in Fremont County. Every Saturday morning at 3rd Street in Downtown Lander.


The closest airport is Central Wyoming Regional Airport in Riverton, Wy, (RIW) about 30 mins by car from Lander. The airport is served by United Airlines.

Other nearby airports include Casper-Natrona County International Airport (CPR), Jackson Hole Airport (JAC), and Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport (Rock Springs) (RKS).

  • Lander City Park offers free camping for up to 3 nights

  • 7 trailer sites available (first come first served)

  • Additional van parking available (first come first served)

  • Unlimited tent camping is permitted on the Grass on the east side of the creek.

  • Facilities include: tables/grates, restrooms, drinking water, no hook-ups, no showers, shade trees, playground.

  • This is the check-in and start/finish line. Keep in mind that races start at 6am and crews will be setting up Friday and Saturday.
